There are a million and one ways to the get the word out about what you do. It can feel pretty overwhelming when trying to decide which strategy is the best fit for your type of business.
Truth is, making really great money doesn't have to be rocket science. In fact, simplicity is key. When you keep things simple and execute them well, you can quickly attract all the clients you need and make the money you desire. Here are three simple steps to get you started.
:: KNOW WHERE YOUR CLIENTS HANG OUT
So many women in business do what I call 'spraying and praying.' They head out to their local networking group each week without really putting much thought into who's actually attending. This is a great idea in theory. However, when you approach your marketing in this way it's very hit and miss. The large majority of people at the event may never become a client.
To be successful in business and to attract all the clients you need, you have to be 100% clear about who it is that you serve. This allows you to get clear on where your ideal clients hang out in droves. It enables you to become way more targeted in your marketing efforts and focused on getting results.
Instead of frequenting online and offline venues where just a few people may become your client, you can instead focus your time, energy and resources on being present at venues where the large majority of attendees are a good fit for you and your work.
When you do this consistently over a period of time you'll be reaching more of your target audience in one hit, as well as increasing your chances of them becoming a new client.
:: ENGAGE IN CONVERSATION
So here's the big question....How many potential clients are you speaking to each day?
If you're not making connections and engaging with people on a daily basis, and you don't have all the clients you need, this will be why.
People buy from those that they know, like and trust, particularly if you're running a service based business. After all, we are our brand. People want to have a connection with you before they will feel comfortable to part with their hard earned cash.
If you're pushing out promotional content and nobody is responding it doesn't necessarily mean that people don't want what you're offering. More likely it's a case of them not knowing who you are. There's no connection, no incentive for them tune into anything you're doing.
I recently challenged one of my clients to reach out to new people in her network every single day. By the end of the very same week she'd enrolled two new high-end clients simply by getting into conversation. There was no push, no self-promotion, and definitely NO salesy tactics.
:: DEMONSTRATE YOUR EXPERTISE
I've heard this challenge many-a-time...
"But Victoria, I'm attending networking events. I'm on social media every day. I'm having conversations 'til I'm blue in the face, but nothing is happening. What's going on, nothing seems to be working!"
Conversation is good, but there needs to be a pathway for that conversation. Remember, this is business not general chit-chat. Every conversation must lead to that person moving a step further into your world, so that they can get to know you and learn more about your business.
How can you do that? By providing extreme value. This immediately wins brownie points with potential clients. You're helping them without pushing your service. However, that doesn't mean that you have to give away the store!
The key here is to remember that value = increased income. The more value you provide the more money you will make. It warms the hearts and minds of your ideal clients. Most importantly, you get to position yourself as the go-to expert in your industry by educating your audience on what you do, how you do it, and how you can help them.

Although she had a relatively small number of people on the call she was able to generate £12K by enrolling four new clients into her high-end program.
