Who said that business was a bed of roses?
It's true, at times it can be one of the most profound, joyful, and life altering experiences.
In my nine years of business I've experienced a lot. I've learned the hard and painful way about what NOT to do when it comes to keeping a healthy bottom line and living in your zone of genius.
There are SO many benefits to being boss lady and mistress of your own destiny:-
- Working from home
- Choosing flexible hours
- Working around your kids and social life
- Falling straight out of bed and into your home office
- No nightmare commutes or traffic-laden journeys to work
- Working with no make-up on in your comfy PJs
- Location independent living and international travel
- Increased income & greater freedom of choice
And the list goes on....
However, one of the things that most people don't consider when they decide to go into business for the first time, and that most solo-entrepreneurs won't admit to, is that it can get downright lonely at times!
- You don't have any work colleagues to chat to throughout the day
- You don't get invited to after work drinkie-poos
- There's generally not the hustle and bustle of a normal job
- Your hubby or partner doesn't 'get' what you're doing
- Friends and family members don't get it either
- There's nobody to brainstorm with
- Nobody to go to when the shizzle hits the fan
In fact, if you're not careful you can literally go an entire week without seeing A SOUL!
...And guess what?
These things can be absolutely FATAL to your business success.
Before too long you become isolated, uninspired, and deflated. Things start to dry up. You have no ideas, no sparkle, no get-up-and-go.
It's easy to begin second guessing yourself. Shrinking to fit where you're at instead of stepping more fully into all that you're meant for.
Then worst of all...the clients and cash-flow dwindle away to nothing!
In today's post I'm sharing my fave tips for keeping your mind and business vibrantly alive, so that you can continue to think and play bigger and stay consistently inspired for action.
:: GET OUT FROM BEHIND YOUR LAPTOP
I see it all of the time. Women come to me for help. They've been spending every hour God sends slumped over a laptop, bashing away on social media, creating online structures and writing for dear life.
Nothing will suck the life force out of you faster than the flickering blue light of the online world.

You know what they say... "A Change is as good as a rest."
Take breaks on the regular. Get outside. Go for a walk. Get some fresh air. Meet a friend for coffee. Do a bit of window shopping. Workout. Take up baking, Argentine tango, or some other hobby that takes you away from your usual "switched ON" state.
Most of all, create things that are a match for the way in which you want to work.
If you're a people person and enjoy connection, don't be creating online programs. Instead create something that's a true reflection of your strengths. Create something that lights you up, something that's a joy and pleasure to deliver.

:: STAY IN HIGH-VIBRATION
When things don't go well in business it can be easy to let the negativity spiral out of control.
That client didn't sign on the bottom line. The money isn't coming in. Your event isn't filling as fast as you'd like. Your client pays late. A nasty troll left a defamatory comment about an innocent comment you made on social media.
Whatever the situation, just remember: -
Like attracts like. Thoughts become things. You get more of what you focus on.
If you want to be vibrantly alive in your business and inspired for action, get clear on the things that you DESIRE.
Focus ONLY on that.
- What lights you up?
- How do you want to feel?
- What would make this a truly extraordinary day?
- What would have you going to bed with a massive happy grin on your face?
The fastest way to snap out of negativity is to focus on the things you DO want. Get into vibrational alignment with your desires. Imagine having that desire. Get intimate with it. Pretend it's already in your existence. Enjoy it before it's arrived.
Be mindful of your energy too. Keep your boundaries strong where others are concerned.
Don't allow friends, family, or clients to dump their shit on you. Don't allow others to take you down or suck the life force out of you.
Remember, you have to support yourself FIRST if you're ever to going to be able to show up in the world and support others.
Self-care ALWAYS takes priority.
:: BE PART OF A "KICK-ASS" COMMUNITY
You know what they say,
"You are the average of the five people you hang out with most!"
So what does that say about you and your business?
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, will kick you out of a stink more than being in community with other high-vibe, inspiring (and inspired), successful and up-to-big-shizzle women.
It's so vitally important to surround yourself with a sisterhood who gets you, who has your back, and can hold your vision...even when you feel that you can't.
A few hours with the right crowd can elevate you to heights you never dreamed of and keep you going for weeks thereafter. It will shift your thinking and open your mind to new and exciting possibilities.
:: GET FOCUSED
One of the downsides of entrepreneurship can be the never ending to-do list. We feel we MUST plough through it in order to get shizzle done. Each day brings another thing to do and another task to add to that list.
Before too long you lack the energy to get anything done. You lose sight of the reason why you're in business at all. You feel burnt out, stressed out, and overwhelmed.
One of the keys to your success is knowing exactly where to put your FOCUS.
The next key is to actually IMPLEMENT that shizzle!
Will the things you currently have on your to-do list REALLY get you to where you want to go? Are you being busy for busyness sake?
So often I meet women who are filling their day with tasks and strategies that really don't lead to the outcome they desire.
They're caught up in the 'doingness' in the hope that by doing more they will eventually experience the transformation they're looking for.
If that's you and you're working your ass off without seeing results it's time to STOP.
Business success doesn't require that you work every hour God sends. It doesn't require that you do MORE.
All you need to do is streamline and simplify.
Get focused ONLY on the things that will bring results. Do fewer things, know what to focus on, do them well, and watch the results flow in.
Nothing will inspire you for action more than good ol' RESULTS!
Stay inspired honey!
