I've got the collywobbles!
Today I feel nervous and excited all rolled into one. Eaton, my 3 year old little angel (so fitting that his middle name is Gabriel), has just been accepted into private school.
It's an intention that I set for myself a few years back when he was just a few months old. At the time my life had spiraled out of control. I found myself alone with a newborn, living on benefits, and feeling very ashamed about it too!
So, although this feels like a momentous bench-mark moment in my life, and I'm truly in awe of how far I've come, I find that my "ego-mind" (gremlin, limiting beliefs, fear-based thoughts, call it what you will), still has a tendency to kick up stories from my past so that it can reflect them into my future...
"What if it doesn't work out?"
"What if I'm not good enough?"
"What if it all goes wrong?"
"What if the money isn't there!"
You know the deal....
There's no doubt that this is a big (and scary) financial commitment to meet on my own, and one that will last for 15 years (breath Victoria!)... And to be honest part of me wants to run for the hills, be safe, and take the easy route (i.e. stay in my comfort zone).
However, if there's one thing that I've learned about business (and life) it's that everything we desire, everything we dream of, everything we're meant for, stands on the other side of our fear.
...And it got me thinking!
So often we say "No" to the very thing that will move us in the direction of our desires. We allow our fear to dictate what we can and can't do. We make our decisions based upon faulty social conditioning and skewed belief systems.
I regularly speak with women who are DESPERATE for their situation to change. They identify that they are stuck and need help. Yet in the very next breath will say "No" to the very thing that will transform EVERYTHING (the help or opportunity that's right in front of them).
They continue to be a victim of their circumstance rather than show up, invest in themselves, do something different, or actually move through their fear.
We are often so afraid of the unknown that we would rather repeat the same effed-up behaviors and stay right where we are.
We would rather continue to stay frustrated, broke, depressed, unfulfilled, [insert your emotion here], than step up and say "YES!" to what we truly desire. If we could just make a decision to move through our fear, things would shift BIG TIME!
As you move forward you will start to see life from a different perspective. New opportunities present themselves in a way that they could not have if you'd have stayed where you are. You'll experience new ideas and ways of achieving your desired outcome. The answers, the how-to, and the way forward will be revealed to you.
This is when you will begin to realise and experience the true joy and richness of LIVING (not hiding!) This is when you'll experience ALL of the riches that are available to you.
... And isn't THAT what we're meant for?
